Article: Royal Inspiration

Royal Inspiration

A royal childhood spent in cherished dresses and woollen swing coats buttoned right to the top - our late Queen’s early wardrobe has always inspired Caramel’s design team, working just a red bus ride away from the palace in London.

Royal Inspiration

A nod to a young Elizabeth’s wardrobe, right down to the bob. A little princess before she made history. Our own princess dresses, the ones that they never want to take off (not even at bedtime).

It’s the little details that make an outfit a favourite: a plush collar, big covered buttons, a paper crown to match metallic Mary Janes. Something new that nods to something old, making for an wear-forever coat.

Caramel Party Dresses

A sense of occasion: layering colours and textures for extra special days out.

Our hand-drawn prints and custom-dyed colours change with each season, breathing new life into the vintage shapes that inspire us.

Caramel Embroidered Blouses - Queen Elizabeth inspiration

Heirlooms and hand-me-downs; we love when our dresses are passed through the generations…

…or shared between siblings, each making new memories in them.

Baby Dress Inspiration

Our floral prints always nod to the British countryside, our home-grown blooms.

Caramel Coats and Jackets - Queen Elizabeth inspiration

Off to Balmoral: our Queen’s love of horses and time in the countryside started young.

For fresh-air holidays, we mix textural layers and heritage checks.

Caramel Kilt Skirt

Taking our cue from traditional kilts and rich-hued tartans.

A style masterclass in print-clashing tartans.

Caramel Tweed Coat

A look that still feels fresh and stylish today.     Our own coats, designed to be passed down through the family.

Party Dresses Inspiration from Queen Elizabeth

Party dresses embroidered with treasures growing in the palace’s rose garden.

A different sort of crown, for flower girls and fairy princesses…

… and for a true princess who would go on to become our own wonderful Queen.
