Our mission is to design effortless pieces for the Caramel customer who has grown up and still wants to wear a familiar aesthetic which incorporates our distinct colour palette, a discerning eye for detail and flattering cuts at an affordable price point.
Caramel is a modern success story, created in 1999 by a founder with a strong vision and immense passion who originally started out by creating unparalleled childrenswear. Eva Karayiannis launched a capsule womenswear collection in AW15 after many years of interest and requests from customers and press.
It was originally conceived to challenge traditional, limited perceptions of childrenswear and a strong, distinctive aesthetic of fresh silhouettes which balance the classic and contemporary quickly emerged and continues to flourish each season.
Today there are 10 flagship stores in 6 countries and Caramel is also sold through 100 independent retailers. Recent openings include Stockholm, Kuwait and Moscow.
Says Karayiannis: “I don’t like the ethics of cheap, throw away fashion and felt there was a gap between the high street and expensive, high end –fashion. No one needs hundreds of clothes, in their wardrobe yet I felt that many women were looking for easy –to-wear pieces that could be styled up or down, that fit different body shapes and which will appeal to all ages.” Read less
