Welcome to Caramel’s new look Journal, a platform we very much hope will be an interesting exploration of design and culture. We are thrilled to include interviews and photography from a carefully cherry-picked roster of contributors who we admire greatly and who all have a celebrated strong point of view. We are also excited to bring you insights from Caramel’s London HQ as well as share the things which pique our curiosity each month. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed putting it together. Our first issue celebrates clothes and the (very many) ways we wear them. Fashion journalist, editor and Head of Fashion at the Telegraph, the inimitable Lisa Armstrong shares her thoughts on the importance of not trying too hard, endlessly tweaking, never getting too old to experiment with proportions and not getting too hung up on the colours of the moment and focussing instead on the ones that suit you. The blurred lines of the fashion and interior industries (along with furniture and product design) are only growing louder and this November we catch up with Anna Karlin, a multidisciplinary artist who is making a big splash in New York. We also proudly show you Caramel’s latest womenswear collection as well as leaving you with a flavour of the things that are exciting us most this autumn.
