Caramel Woman SS18
Exploring a texture mash-up was the starting point for Caramel Woman’s S/S18 collection where the label’s idiosyncratic use of heritage geometric prints were elegantly juxtaposed –kaleidoscopic patterns against silk checks – to create a collection that is rich in refined utility silhouettes as it is in understated, modern glamour.
Designed to be layered and worn together – a dress over trousers, shirts under a slip dress – Eva Karayiannis, the label’s founder confidently fuses geometric prints in lavender with earthier tones, bright pink rose jacquard with Liberty prints or injects pops of emerald to lift textured black linen.
Two-piece dressing is also prevalent: crop tops with matching skirts and otherwise modern suiting made from matching prints. As ever, relaxed silhouettes loom large while webbed belts add a touch of playful styling. This season there is a notable emphasis on the waistline.
Once again, Eva Karayainnis looks to easy separates which skim rather than hug the body. Key items include judo style trousers in a cotton twill and pyjama shirts inspired by a vintage Chinese top, all creating clothes which satiate our appetite for 24/7 dressing.
