Caramel understands the idea of understated, quiet luxury, designing only with the finest quality materials. In keeping with Caramel’s signature design, its homeware collection explores an unflinching way with colour, vintage embroidery and a blend of juxtaposed prints from far-flung places.
Cocooning homeware is high on the style agenda. As ever, Eva, Caramel’s founder draws inspiration from far flung places: the blue on a floral quilt recalls the intensity of the Aegean while embroidered cushions offer a nod to the romantic and decorative flourishes of Central Asia. Elsewhere ditsy florals or crochet blankets recall a bygone childhood.
A sense of timelessness is prevalent in Caramel’s homeware design no matter what else might be happening in fashion. At the core of the brand is Eva’s determination to push the boundaries each season and not rest on her laurels. Says Eva, “the whole point of starting my business was to create something which didn’t exist, to challenge what had been produced before then.”
There is a strong creative process in the Caramel atelier on London’s King’s Road which often takes its starting point from print design or perhaps a pattern on knitwear. The strength of the brand is undoubtedly the effortless style and relaxed luxury that every product exudes.
