The promise of an endless summer

It’s not hard to work out why the Ile de Ré or Europe’s version of the Hamptons remains so popular: with miles of sandy white coastline, proper bracing Atlantic surf and picturesque local markets filled with delectable fresh produce, it’s the perfect back drop for any lifestyle shoot.

Interiors stylist Twig Hutchinson also falls for the island’s spell where families enjoy cycling along the many (flat) cycle paths which take in sand dunes, forests and saltmarshes and link up the utterly charming villages of Les Portes en Ré, Ars en Ré or St. Clements des Baleines.

Could there be a holiday destination more ripe with the promise of an endless summer?
