Behind the scenes at the design atelier
Caramel HQ is found half way down the King’s Road, Chelsea. So called because it was the private road used by King Charles II to travel to Kew. Many houses date back to the 18th century and certainly many of the building’s original features – aged stone stairwell, mosaic flooring and coloured pane – glass date to the mid 19th century.
Painted floorboards and graphic monochrome imbue the work spaces with a minimal, spare aesthetic, punctuated by vintage chairs and clothes rails, apothecary drawers Caramel’s unflinching way with colour via neon desk lamps and Berber patterned rugs.
